Joanna Fodczuk-Garcia was born in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. She received her MFA in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland under the tutelage of Professor Jerzy Kalucki. After a long stint in LA as an artist and art educator, she now resides and works in the California Mojave high-desert art community. A fierce abstract painter in oil, acrylic and watercolor, she explores shape, light and color with a raw abandon.

My work is a living map of the interior terrain, a reflection of the journey through the gardens and deserts of the inner landscape. It is a visual journal of the discovered vocabulary, the realizations and questions that emerge along the way.
